Content release form for creators, podcasts and video

A content release form records that someone agrees to let you record, publish and distribute content that features them: an interview, a podcast appearance, a testimonial video, a livestream guest spot or a behind-the-scenes clip. My Consent.me turns it into a short guided form with a digital signature.

When a content release is the right form

Use a content release whenever another person appears in or contributes to something you will publish. Typical cases are podcast guests, YouTube collaborators, interviewees for a documentary, event attendees filmed for a recap, and customers who agree to appear in a promo. Getting the permission written down before you publish saves awkward conversations afterwards, especially if the content is later monetised or used in advertising.

A good release says what is being recorded, where and how it can be used, whether you can edit it, how long the permission lasts, and whether any payment is involved. If any of those points are missing, the form does little to protect either side.

Build it step by step

Start from the Content Release option on the My Consent.me home screen. Each step of the builder asks for one group of details, with a progress indicator so you know how far along you are. On the review screen you can read back everything you entered and fix mistakes, then continue to the agreement and signature steps.

You can also use the Custom Agreement option if your situation does not match a standard form, and signed-in users can try the AI-assisted creator to draft an agreement from a description. Always read AI-generated text carefully before anyone signs it.

Signing and keeping records

Signers draw their signature on screen and choose the date. After completion you can preview and download a PDF. Signed-in users get a dashboard for their documents; the Creator plan adds permanent storage and audit logs, and email invitations for remote signers.

Tips for cleaner releases

Get the release signed before the recording, not after. Keep the PDF with the raw files. Put the guest name and the project name on the form so the two can always be matched. If you work with the same guests or models often, saved participants (a Creator plan feature) avoid retyping details.

Use it with your whole workflow

Creators who stream, make music or sell merch often need several kinds of paperwork. The same tool also covers general consent forms and NDAs, so one place handles most of it.
